Just like real cycling, you can place bets on Virtual Cycling at Genting Bet.
The range of Betting options is fairly comprehensive at Genting Bet when you compare it to Real cycling. However, finding your way around how to actually place a bet took me about 40 minutes plus a visit to the Live Help lady, who whilst very nice, didnt know the answer either. Luckily you have me here to guide you through the maze. And you’ll be glad I did.
Placing a Bet
When you first get to the odds, its a pretty no-frills affair. There is no option to see any race stats. No previous form of the rider involved. You don’t even know how far the riders are racing! This make it hard to really place a bet as you are only going on what the odds are.
This is a shame really, as the actual quality of the action is really good. The screen is clear and the animation smooth. All the competitors move around the track realistically, weaving in and out of each other and occasionally riding high on the banked corners to change positions.
On the left of the screen are a series of coloured markers that show the position of the racers. This makes it easy to follow the action, as does the in play live commentary which is a great touch.
To place your bet, simply select your preferred rider by clicking on their odds. This opens up the betting slip. Type in your wager and then submit the bet into the system. Its as easy as that.
Types of Bet
If you are only betting on one rider then the only option available is outright Winner. There is no Each Way option.
However, selecting a second rider in the race will then open up the second option – the Double. Again there is no each way option, and because Virtual Cycling only pays out on the first two riders over the line, adding more riders doesn’t allow you to place Trebles or greater. Instead you will be given more Doubles.
If you select riders from different races then more options open up to you. Instead of being offered a Win Only or a Double bet, the bet slip will offer up the joys of placing Yankees, Lucky 15s and more.
If you’re feeling especially saucy you can even combine different sports – fancy Dog #1 winning the 3.15, Stuart Small to win the cycling and Belgium to draw against England in the Virtual Football? Go ahead and place the bet. Genting Bet will even let you place a Trixie on it (three doubles and a treble).
